- Canada to host the 2004 World Championships
Two countries were competing to host the World Championships of 2004: Egypt and Canada. Allegedly due to a great number of invalid votes, Egypt lost to the Canadian bid. Therefore, according to the decision of AIDA, announced on September 28th, 2003, the Canadian Association of Freediving and Apnea (CAFA) won the bid to host the 4th AIDA Freediving World Championships by Team 2004.

- DOUBLE WORLD RECORD:
The revenge has begun: After Herbert Nitsch "stole" three world records from his main rivals at the beginning of September, it was predictable that they will try to take revenge on him. At the end of September, the Venezuelan Carlos Coste and the Danish Stig Severinsen attacked Herbert‘ s Constant Weight without fins record of -50 meters. Carlos‘ s first attempt at -60 m failed, he had a blackout. On his second try, he went down to -61 m, clear. So did Stig. So the new world record is -61 m (it will be official after the doping tests.) The record of this discipline was -33 meters not less than a month ago!!!
